Day 31 (3rd April) Museum/East Lake/Salon

Today’s another day for site visit! We went to Hubei art museum and Hubei Park(Dong Hu). We had to wake up early again as we need to assemble at 8.30am. As we were rushing for time, I only manage to bring some of the food that we bought for picnic. We reached the museum after a 20minutes ride from the campus. Security was tight as there was a security check before we can enter. the museum is enormous and there are 5 storey in total. We were given some time to explore the museum by ourselves before we assemble and set off for the next attraction. Mostly were artifacts excavated from the tombs.

Bronze sifting shovel

Bronze dustpan

Suitcase with pattern of twenty-eight constellations

Gold bowl

Bronze hourse ornaments

Replica of Yunxian Man Cranium

Animal fossil

Skeleton unearthed at LuoShishan

Head ornaments that the royals use

The second site that we went to is dong hu. it is just a few minutes ride from the museum. it is definitely a perfect place for picnic, kite flying, and water activities! However, we are not allowed to engage in water activities as advised by our tour guide. we were first brought to a pavilion and we from there, we find a spot to settle down for our picnic!
After we finished almost all of our food, we went to talk a stroll and explore the place as well. the scenery is really nice and in just one day, I saw more than 5 couples taking wedding photos at the park! the water level at the lake is high! it is the same level as the ground. We gathered at around 2pm and we headed back to the campus.

As we have no plans for the rest of the day, we decided to go to the salon, Yes, I do, to have a hairdo and we took a illegal cab there. Sihao’s clique also went there to the salon too! the salon is packed with a lot of people! we had to squeeze our way through and it took a moment before there is a vacant seat. before deciding on whether we want to cut or how we want our hair to be done, we were asked to wash our hair first. after that, the hairstylist will give advices and we will decide on the hairstyle we want. after much consideration, I decided to perm my hair as the price is a lot lower compared to the price in Singapore. also, I have straight hair from the past till now. So, I decided to go for a change. The end result is quite satisfactory and all of us left the salon with a new hairdo.

The water level is high up to the level of the ground.

Reflection:
The feeling of having a picnic by the lake or just taking a stroll in the park is great! I think Singapore should cut down lesser trees and preserve the nature. Surrounded by buildings and more buildings is suffocating us in this stressful environment. therefore, we should also have more of these parks to relieve the stress form our hectic lifestyles.

When we step into Yes, I do, there were a row of hair dresser greeting us warmly and opening the door for us and we were treated like VIPs. The finishing of the salon is also very classy. During tea time, they serve drink and snacks for customer too. that may be the reason why they are able to retain and attract customers. Their service is excellent except the part that the salon is very packed with people. While in Singapore, the hair dressers can normally be seen standing at one corner or doing their own things at the counter. I think the spirit that they serve customers is what we should learn and adopt.
