Day 2 – Campus orientation & Shopping

The weather today is a bad weather for campus orientation as it was raining throughout the whole orientation. This dampened our mood as it became even colder. Firstly, we visited the classroom that we are going to study in the 6 weeks. The classroom is very comfortable and warm and the chairs and tables looked all brand new. Saw Ms wong in the classroom too!

Next, we visited the staff room. The staff room there is quite similar to ours. Then, the next stop is the computer lab. The computers that they use are better compared to ours and they are newer too. Also, they have a clinic in the campus and this makes it convenient for the students and the price is also cheaper. The last stop is the canteen. As you can see, the canteen is filled with smoke. The air ventilation is rather bad and is not really a good environment for dining. After dining, we meet the local students and they brought us to a shopping mall near the campus. For payment of food, they use card to pay while we pay by cash. This is very convenient and shortens the queue and waiting time for students to get their food.

Then we went to the bus stop and took a bus there. The vehicles there do not follow a lane and this is dangerous and causes the ride to be bumby. After shopping, we had steamboat for dinner. Went to the walmart there which is what we called supermarket to purchase necessities before going back to the hoste

Reflection:
Although studying in foreign environment may be difficult, we have to adapt to everything there as soon as possible. Moreover, the facilities that they provided are good and this enhances our study process. One thing that we should learn from them is using card for payment of food as it shortens the waiting time. However, the traffic is not that organized and they should also improve on their traffic flow. I really appreciate the bus system in our country as it saves time and is very convenient. Also, the government has done a good job in maintaining smooth traffic flow in Singapore to prevent congestion and ensure safety for us.
